Incanto Flooring: Care and Preservation Guide

Your Incanto hardwood floor is designed for durability, but like any high-quality floor, it will exhibit signs of wear over time. By adhering to the following care instructions and maintenance routine, you'll enjoy enduring beauty from your Incanto floor.

Routine Maintenance and Care

Outlined below are the essential care tasks you should regularly perform. This list is representative, not exhaustive:

  1. Preventative Measures:

    • Position walk-off mats at entrances and high-traffic zones.

    • Apply felt protectors under all furniture and moveable items to prevent scratches.

    • Avoid placing gym equipment directly on the hardwood to prevent damage and potential warranty issues.

  2. Appliance Servicing Care:

    • Utilize Ram Board or similar robust protective materials during appliance maintenance or replacement activities to shield your flooring.

  3. Post-Installation Guidelines:

    • Wait 24 hours after installation before covering the floors with any plastic or protective sheeting.

    • For ongoing construction activities, ensure floors are covered with appropriate protection to prevent damage from construction debris.

  4. Strict No-Tape Policy:

    • Refrain from using any tape on the floors, even those marketed with low adhesion.

  5. Initial and Subsequent Cleaning:

    • Start with dry sweeping, using a pad until full, then replace. Avoid beater bars on vacuums; instead, use felt or smooth types.

    • For dry cleaning, use microfiber pads to capture dust and loose debris, replacing the pad as needed.

  6. Moist Cleaning Protocol:

    • Employ a moistened pad system like a Swiffer wet jet or Bona cleaner pad. Use only pH 7 neutral solutions – this is crucial.

    • Do not use pre-treated pads from Swiffer as they are not pH neutral and could void your warranty.

    • Maximum use: 2 times a month, with an interval of 15 days between each use.

  7. Avoidance of Harmful Substances:

    • Never leave any cleaning product on the floor for extended periods.

    • Steer clear of steam cleaning, wet mopping, or use of oil soaps, waxes, and household cleaners containing citrus, silicone, or ammonia.

    • Refrain from using 2-in-1 cleaners with polish that contain acrylics or urethane, as these can harm the floor's finish and could void the warranty.

  8. Spill and Stain Response:

    • Address spills swiftly with a soft cloth and an appropriate cleaning product.

  9. Pet Care:

    • Keep pet nails trimmed and their paws free of substances that could soil the floors.

By following this manual, you ensure the longevity and sustained aesthetic appeal of your Incanto matte lacquer finished hardwood flooring. Remember, the right care leads to timeless floors.
